Entering the video games industry in 2002, Dan Lam started his career as a junior artist doing pixel art for popular Gameboy Advance titles including Spyro the Dragon, and Tron (Universal).
Very soon, Dan found himself creating stunning visual effects using pixel art, and quickly became a technical artist.
Shortly after, Dan was creating 3d visual effects and was the lead artist for Sonic Rivals (Sega), and Monster Lab (Eidos).
Dan has since moved on to start his own iPhone development business, Trickshot Games, and has opened the studio to outsourcing opportunities.

Highlights
Artwork featured across Europe
Dan’s artwork for leading-edge Japanese video game company Arc System Works known for their flagship Blazblue series, was featured as a poster, with a print run of 80,000 and distributed across Europe. His work was also featured in Don’t Panic Magazine. In 2011, Dan was featured in Arcana Heart 3, with an exclusive piece available only at MCM Expo.
Started Trickshot Games Inc
An iPhone development studio. Dan was owner, operator, and art director on two in-studio projects Coin Toss Challenge and Mice Heist. Through these projects, Dan learned what it took to run a studio, and manage a project from the top down.
Featured guest in a game industry podcast
Dan’s work caught the attention of a leading Vancouver-based game industry podcast The Artery, and was interviewed as a guest along with other game industry veterans.
Contributed art to an award-winning documentary
The Weight of Chains is a documentary shown internationally in 2011, created by Boris Malagurski; director, producer, and editor of the award winning documentary Can You Imagine?
Lead Artist on Sonic Rivals and Monster Lab
Two major projects with a staff of over 50 people; artists, programmers, and designers each. Not only was Dan responsible for liasoning and coordinating between these people, but he also mentored junior artists.
Year-long sabbatical
Not many can say they were able to take the time off, enjoy it, and travel. It was during this time that Dan established his iPhone development studio Trickshot Games Inc. Dan went to Singapore two years in a row to not only visit family, but to attend two high-profile conventions – Anime Festival Asia and Singapore Toy Games & Comic Convention in order to network and meet incredible people, including Danny Choo.
